At Upstate Parks and Recreation (UPAR), our vision is to inspire lifelong connection to recreation, wellness, and nature throughout Upstate New York. We are committed to providing accessible, introductory programs for youth, families, and adults—through foundational experiences in sports, coaching and officiating, outdoor fitness, the arts, and nature-based learning.
Through strategic partnerships with area collegiate athletes and athletic organizations, UPAR brings expert guidance and mentorship to folks trying activities for the first time. We also offer planning advisement to support improvement of parks, trails, playgrounds, and community spaces.
Together, we aim to build stronger, more inclusive Upstate New York communities—one activity, one park, and one connection at a time.
